Mum had a great afternoon celebrating VE day this year . As she was house bound and couldn’t sit outside , Bev went round to spend the afternoon with her and took fish and chips , which Mum thorougly enjoyed. Then the celebrations began and familiar songs from her childhood during the war rang out. Mum sat by her lounge window and because of social distancing her neighbours came and chatted through the glass . Hannah who lives across the street was singing and entertaining us all and she dedicated a song to Mum. We have lovely memories of that afternoon and of how much Mum enjoyed herself.
